Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales and Marketing Director to lead our sales and marketing efforts at the Best Western Plus Hacienda Hotel Old Town.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in hospitality sales, a deep understanding of the local market, and the ability to develop and execute effective sales and marketing strategies.
As the Sales and Marketing Director, you will be responsible for maximizing revenue opportunities, building strong client relationships, and positioning our property as the preferred choice for business and leisure travelers.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development (75%) :
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue goals for rooms, catering, and events.
Identify and target key market segments, including corporate, group, and leisure travel, to drive business to the hotel.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, while proactively seeking new business opportunities through networking, sales calls, and industry events.
Conduct site visits, property tours, and presentations to prospective clients, showcasing the unique features and benefits of the hotel.Negotiate and finalize contracts, ensuring all terms and conditions are in line with hotel standards and client expectations.
Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Work closely with the catering and events teams to ensure seamless coordination of group bookings and events, from initial inquiry to execution.
Marketing & Promotions (25%) :
Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Marketing to create and execute integrated marketing campaigns that drive awareness and bookings.
Develop and manage content for social media platforms, ensuring consistent brand messaging and engagement with target audiences.Coordinate and execute email marketing campaigns, tracking performance metrics and optimizing for maximum impact.
Design and produce promotional materials, including flyers, brochures, and digital content, to support sales and marketing efforts.
Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and digital marketing performance, adjusting strategies as needed.
Represent the hotel at local and regional industry events, trade shows, and business networking opportunities, promoting the hotel's brand and offerings.
Qualifications:
HOTEL Experience preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a sales and marketing management role within the hospitality industry, specifically in a hotel setting.
Strong knowledge of the San Diego market and a network of industry contacts.Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets, with a track record of driving revenue growth.
Experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns, with a strong understanding of digital marketing strategies.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive client relationships.
Proficiency in hotel sales software (e.g., STS, Delphi, Opera) and social media and marketing tools along with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills.Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by business needs.
