Nursing Administrative Coordinator Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Administrative Coordinator to join our team at The University of Kansas Health System. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical leadership and management of personnel and resources to facilitate the provision of quality patient care across all departments throughout the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a patient and staff advocate, working to resolve issues and enhance service recovery
  • Collaborate with all levels of nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, leadership teams, and other stakeholders
  • Develop and implement specialized programs and/or corrective action plans to address identified quality needs and/or improve clinical services
  • Facilitate testing for reasonable suspicion and place staff on administrative leave as appropriate
  • Collaborate with unit coordinators at divisional unit coordinator meetings, facilitating communication to manage staffing and patient flow, as well as fostering teamwork and effective problem solving
  • Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, legal consequences, and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing and other services
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum of 1 shift per month ongoing experience
  • Preferred Education and Experience: Master Degree in Nursing, 2 or more years of management experience
  • Required Licensure and Certification: Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS), American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days
