Position Summary

CRH Group Corporate Events is expanding its team and is on the lookout for a Senior Event Operations Manager based in the US. This role is ideal for individuals with exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, who can prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will operate independently, collaborating with a predominantly European team and will be responsible for managing a diverse range of projects, including opportunities for extensive national and some international travel.

Key Responsibilities

This position is highly detail-oriented, focusing on project management and the practical execution of events from conception to final reconciliation. Responsibilities include:

  • Venue Sourcing & Management: Conduct thorough research on venues, destination management companies, and production agencies, while developing local supplier networks and negotiating contracts.
  • Event Design & Production: Oversee third-party suppliers to ensure a coordinated approach to each event, maintain detailed project management documentation, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Integration of Technology: Determine event design and IT requirements for hybrid and virtual projects, selecting the most suitable delivery methods.
  • Food & Beverage Management: Plan and manage food and beverage arrangements for events.
  • Transportation & Logistics: Create and manage transportation and accommodation manifests.
  • Digital Systems Management: Oversee online registration and the CRH Events app.
  • Budget Management: Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints from initial estimates to final project reconciliation.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A proactive and motivated approach, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a strong focus on execution excellence.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to manage financial aspects effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across various organizational levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously and coach team members.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours as required.

Experience & Education

Essential:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in delivering national and international corporate events, particularly in logistics roles.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and related collaboration tools.

Preferred:

  • A formal qualification in Event Management, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of event production, including scenic design and AV.
  • Experience with online registration tools such as Cvent or Eventogy.
