Position Overview
We are in search of a meticulous, self-motivated individual with exceptional culinary skills and strong interpersonal abilities to join our team as a Culinary Event Specialist. This role is ideal for those who pursue excellence in both cooking and hospitality while relishing the opportunity to work with high-end cuisine.

Employment Details
This is a part-time, non-exempt role with flexible hours aligned with event schedules. The workload varies significantly throughout the year, necessitating availability during weeknights and weekends. Contract positions for Culinary Event Specialists are also available.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a culinary environment such as a restaurant, hotel, or catering service.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in a kitchen setting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and outstanding organizational capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; the ideal candidate should possess culinary talent along with a natural affinity for hospitality and client engagement.
  • Proficient in software applications such as G Suite and other relevant culinary tools.
  • A passion for crafting remarkable food and beverages while embodying authentic hospitality.
  • A commitment to integrating into the Homespun culture and representing the company positively.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs, navigate stairs and uneven surfaces, and maintain mobility for extended periods.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • A culinary degree is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Reliable personal transportation is essential for on-site event work.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our Culinary Team in the preparation at our Upper Westside Kitchen leading up to events.
  • Serve as the Lead Chef for off-site events in private residences and venues on 1-2 evenings per week.
  • Oversee inventory management of event supplies and equipment.
  • Manage all pre-event preparations, including the packing of necessary equipment and supplies.
