Job Overview

About the Position:

ORBCOMM is seeking a dynamic and driven Senior Vice President of Sales to enhance our sales leadership team. The individual in this role will oversee the sales of ORBCOMM's innovative products and services. This position entails direct management of a team of Business Development Managers, achieving quarterly sales objectives, nurturing vital customer relationships, and forging strategic business partnerships. We are in search of a candidate with a creative approach and exceptional communication abilities. This role will report to the Senior Vice President of North America Sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Business Development Managers
  • Develop and articulate the strategic sales vision
  • Transform this vision into actionable sales plans and measurable outcomes
  • Enhance and refine processes and procedures as necessary
  • Monitor and discuss the progress of sales targets and other objectives
  • Build strong customer relationships to identify and address their needs
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with the company's growth strategy
  • Analyze competitor activities and the overall market landscape
  • Provide regular updates on new business opportunities to ensure accurate forecasting
  • Compile monthly sales performance reviews and forecasts against set targets
  • Utilize leadership skills to bridge gaps between actual performance and forecasts
  • Align team capabilities with tasks to maximize engagement and productivity
  • Guide the team in securing new business from existing accounts
  • Offer coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to enhance team skills and performance
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with customers, business unit leaders, and senior management to foster collaboration
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the executive leadership team

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in Sales Management within the IoT and/or Satellite/Connectivity sectors
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Willingness to travel nationally as required
  • Proficient in MS Teams, MS Office Suite, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and SFDC
  • Strong geographical awareness
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive outlook
