Position Overview

Senior Service Engineer

OBJECTIVE:
This role is pivotal in executing commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks for both IEM and non-IEM products. Senior Service Engineers are expected to possess the expertise to tackle any commissioning or troubleshooting challenge related to IEM equipment, including intricate systems. This position also involves leading teams to successfully complete complex switchgear or control retrofits, alongside executing high-level automation projects while providing mentorship and support to junior technicians and programmers. The ability to identify and propose solutions for integration challenges between IEM and other vendor equipment is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Travel to client locations as necessary to independently lead or assist in commissioning and troubleshooting efforts alongside junior technicians and engineers.
  • Participate in site meetings and walkthroughs; offer insights to applications or sales teams regarding automation and switchgear solutions that utilize IEM products.
  • Deliver automation and networking support while providing commissioning training to field service engineers and technicians.
  • Assist in project initiation and address any outstanding issues identified during the job. Collaborate with IEM Project Managers to update and finalize punch lists.
  • Report any quality control concerns to manufacturing facilities, ensuring adherence to project design criteria and product specifications. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to rectify any identified deficiencies.
  • As needed, travel to IEM manufacturing or field service offices to conduct or lead training sessions and participate in factory testing.
  • Identify potential project risks that could impact the success of junior technicians.
  • Work alongside the Field Service Manager to schedule additional field resources and teams to meet service demands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, along with relevant experience.
  • Proficient troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to switchgear, PLC controls, generator controls, and networking equipment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a strong customer presence are essential.
  • Experience in a supervisory role.
  • Willingness to travel is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $60.00 per hour

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 4 years in Electrical Switchgear Commissioning.
