Position: Chief Nursing Executive

As the Chief Nursing Executive, you will play a crucial role in developing, leading, and evaluating all aspects of management to ensure high-quality patient care at Kaiser Permanente's Emergency Services. You'll be responsible for budget administration, staff development, policy implementation, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer the operating budget and prepare comprehensive financial reports
  • Facilitate collaboration between nursing, medical staff, and other departments to drive operational excellence
  • Participate in hospital administrative management to ensure seamless operations
  • Work with labor liaisons and lead emergency departments' clinical functions to optimize patient outcomes
  • Ensure staff have the necessary skills for patient care and develop effective orientation tools
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in healthcare leadership, with a proven track record of success
  • Minimum 2 years of budget development experience, with expertise in financial planning and analysis
  • Masters in Nursing or Bachelors in Nursing with a Masters in a related field, such as healthcare administration or business
  • Registered Nurse License and Basic Life Support certification, with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care
Additional Skills:
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including electronic health records and financial management systems
  • Strong leadership, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Analytical problem-solving and project management abilities, with a focus on delivering results-driven solutions
  • Knowledge of quality and systems management principles, with a commitment to continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in a managed care setting, with a proven track record of success
  • Experience in labor relations and financial systems, with expertise in negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration, with a strong commitment to professional development
  • Advanced degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or business, with a focus on strategic leadership and innovation
