We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatric Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and advancing medical science through research and education.

Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to coordinate the nutritional care of patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patients' nutritional needs, developing and implementing effective nutrition care plans, and providing education and support to promote improved health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' nutritional needs and create personalized nutrition care plans.
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their families.
  • Document patient records accurately and completely.
  • Support departmental goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and research.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
  • Registered Dietitian status with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Current licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist status with the Louisiana Board of Examiners for Dietitians and Nutritionists (LBEDN).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer software and applications relevant to the role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year of clinical work experience in nutrition or a related field.
  • Certification in a specialty area.
Work Environment

This role requires working in a patient care area, with exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent may be at risk for occupational exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment.
