Job Overview:


The Manufacturing Process Engineering Specialist plays a crucial role in providing both technical and administrative assistance across various Manufacturing and Testing teams, including Antenna, Radio Frequency Equipment, Small Modem, and Commercial Products within Operations.

This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including offering engineering support throughout the product lifecycle—from initial conceptual development and prototyping to full-scale production, product phase-out, and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO).

Key tasks involve conducting design reviews and approvals, managing engineering change requests, developing and maintaining master manufacturing processes, engaging in continuous improvement initiatives, analyzing requirements, planning tasks, and assisting in technical project management through documentation and reporting.


Core Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate manufacturing production challenges and implement effective corrective measures related to designs, materials, and processes.
  • Deliver technical expertise and support pertinent to manufacturing operations.
  • Integrate innovative methods and processes to enhance existing operational efficiencies.
  • Educate production staff on new or established operational procedures.
  • Compile reports that summarize key information and trends associated with manufacturing performance.
  • Ensure alignment with organizational objectives concerning yield and process capability.
  • Actively engage in Failure Review Board (FRB) assessments.


Collaborate with cross-functional teams to devise and implement enhanced manufacturing strategies that yield measurable improvements within the scope of this role.

Provide insights on engineering specifications and foster a culture of continuous improvement, emphasizing principles such as "Right the First Time," Safety First, audit readiness, and adherence to Policy & Security compliance.


Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience; or a Graduate Degree with at least 2 years of engineering experience; or, in the absence of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of engineering experience.

Preferred Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Experience with logistics, production workflows, and factory layout design.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Department of Defense (DoD) development and program lifecycle, including Design, Implementation, Verification, Production, and Sustainment.
