Position Purpose

The primary objective of this role is to plan, design, and oversee the implementation of process and equipment enhancements aimed at reducing costs, improving quality, ensuring safety, and increasing efficiency. This role will often focus on optimizing existing processes and equipment. You will also be involved in the development and launch of new automated assembly equipment, providing essential engineering support by troubleshooting issues and implementing timely solutions to maintain seamless production flow.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the introduction of new processes and automation initiatives on the manufacturing floor.
  • Drive specific technical or capital improvement projects (CIP) in assembly, packaging, or other engineering disciplines as assigned.
  • Coordinate, communicate, and ensure the timely completion of assigned projects within scope.
  • Specify and/or procure equipment, tooling, and fixtures necessary for process modifications.
  • Establish project budgets, create purchase orders, and propose capital improvement projects.
  • Install and validate new equipment, tooling, and fixtures for modifications or replication of existing manufacturing processes, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams as required to complete assigned projects.
  • Lead initiatives focused on continuous improvement.
  • Support the execution of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) strategies.
  • Participate in designated career development training programs.

Position Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in various engineering disciplines related to mechanical design, manufacturing, and process development.
  • At least 3 years of project management experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Visio, Microsoft Office, and MS Project.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or ProE.
  • Strong technical report writing skills.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary - approximately 10%.
