Job Overview:
The Manufacturing Process Engineering Specialist plays a crucial role in providing both technical and administrative assistance across various Manufacturing and Testing divisions, including Antenna, Radio Frequency Equipment, Small Modem, and Commercial Products teams within the Operations sector.

Key Responsibilities:


This position encompasses the engineering support of products from their initial conceptualization and prototyping stages through to full-scale production, product discontinuation, and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting design evaluations and granting approvals.
  • Authorizing engineering changes.
  • Creating and maintaining master manufacturing processes.
  • Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Performing requirements analysis and management.
  • Assisting in technical project management tasks, including documentation and reporting.
  • Providing support during the build and testing phases.
  • Identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Essential Functions:
- Analyze and resolve manufacturing production challenges by implementing effective solutions related to designs, materials, and processes.
- Offer technical guidance and support pertinent to manufacturing operations.
- Integrate innovative methods and processes to enhance current practices.
- Educate production staff on new or existing procedures.
- Compile reports that summarize trends and information related to manufacturing performance.
- Ensure alignment with organizational objectives concerning yield and process capability.
- Actively engage in Failure Review Board (FRB) investigations.

Collaboration:
Work in partnership with other departments to develop and execute enhanced manufacturing strategies that yield measurable improvements within the scope of this role.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 2 years of experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 8 years of engineering experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Skills:
- A degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical, technical, and critical thinking abilities.
- Familiarity with logistics, production workflows, and factory layout.
- Comprehensive understanding of the DoD development and program lifecycle, including Design, Implementation, Verification, Production, and Sustainment.
