Role Overview:

The Process Improvement Engineer is an entry-level engineering position that directly collaborates with the regional Operations Manager. This role is pivotal in providing engineering assistance across all operational facets, including maintenance and other functional areas within the corrugated packaging sector.

This position is designed to enhance the efficiency of plant machinery, boost reliability, and ensure product quality while maximizing throughput and revenue generation.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate and execute significant process enhancements, troubleshooting, and capital projects aimed at improving asset reliability.
  • Coordinate and implement plans for Efficiency Improvement Audits.
  • Deliver production-focused support to Plant Operations Management.
  • Assist Plant Maintenance Management with maintenance-related tasks.
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams and operational staff to enhance plant performance.
  • Implement systems for reliability enhancement and plant optimization.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for operational issues.
  • Refine and optimize maintenance processes.
  • Support lubrication and inspection initiatives for maintenance and operational care.
  • Oversee pressure vessel and equipment integrity programs.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance equipment and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor maintenance and process downtime metrics to identify solutions for recurring equipment failures and inefficiencies.

Uphold company policies and procedures, share beneficial information with team members, and seek ways to enhance service delivery to our clients.

Qualifications:
  • 0-2 years of engineering experience, including internships and co-op positions, in a manufacturing or industrial setting (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related fields).
  • Ability to take initiative and lead projects with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Experience in providing technical support for manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team environment, emphasizing open communication.
  • Preferred knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on developing alternative solutions.
