Position Summary:

The role of the Estimator is vital in securing projects and expanding our business. Their ability to navigate rapidly changing conditions and maintain relationships with local subcontractors is essential for delivering precise and tailored bids that meet client needs. They play a crucial role in setting the operations team up for success and remain involved throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the gathering and analysis of data necessary to estimate the time, materials, labor, and costs required for project construction.
  • Utilize historical data and current market trends to formulate and present accurate estimates.
  • Timely solicit the appropriate number of subcontractors and leverage experience to select the best candidates for each project.
  • Examine bid scope documents, assess subcontractor proposals for accuracy, and provide detailed quantity surveys.
  • Efficiently utilize Catamount's bidding system and distribute addendums promptly when required.
  • Transfer estimating projects to the Project Manager with clarity and precision.
  • Qualifications:
  • Experience in Hard Bid Estimating.
  • Meticulous attention to detail; ensuring accuracy in estimates, unit costs, bid scope documents, and proposals.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including listening, presenting, interpersonal, and written abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and/or training with a Commercial General Contractor preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Planswift Take-off software and Building Connected is a plus.
