Position Summary for Pre-Construction Estimator

We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven estimator to enhance our expanding team. In this role, you will be tasked with project take-offs, estimating labor and material expenses, and conveying financial estimates to the Director of Pre-Construction and the Construction Management Team. A strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret construction plans and specifications are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned tasks promptly.
  • Evaluate projects by determining requirements related to time, labor, and material costs.
  • Interpret blueprints and review all relevant documents to generate estimates.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Construction to create bid packages and presentations for senior management.
  • Suggest cost-saving alternatives.
  • Keep comprehensive records of all project documentation, including estimates and specifications.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or architecture.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the construction sector, specifically in stick-built projects is required.
  • Experience in pre-construction is preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans.
  • Proficient knowledge of material take-off formulas and methods is required.
  • Familiarity with the following software is preferred:
    1. Microsoft Office
    2. Bluebeam
    3. Procore
    4. Sage/Timberline
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational abilities.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Minimal travel may be required.
