Overview: At PC Construction Company, the foundation of every successful project begins with our skilled estimators. They play a crucial role in securing competitive bids and ensuring the success of preconstruction services, including CM at-risk and Design-Build projects.
Role Summary: The Senior Estimator will focus on water and wastewater sitework and self-perform estimating. This advanced position demands a minimum of eight to twelve years of experience in estimating, construction operations, and leadership. Previous field experience in construction is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct precise quantity takeoffs and apply unit pricing using advanced estimating software.
- Engage with vendors and suppliers to gather pricing data.
- Request scopes of work and quotes from subcontractors.
- Maintain an up-to-date material pricing database.
- Achieve a comprehensive understanding of construction methods and their influence on project costs.
- Monitor projects that have been awarded and are in progress to gain insights into actual field operations and costs.
- Facilitate the creation of detailed cost budgets for projects that have been successfully bid.
- Collaborate in the collection and upkeep of a historical cost database from previous projects to inform future estimates.
- Engage in value engineering and participate in constructability reviews during the preconstruction phase.
