Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed estimates for multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring precise scope determinations and quantity surveys.

  • Facilitate meetings with subcontractors to define complete scopes and strategize effectively.
  • Manage risks and contracts as necessary during the bidding process.
  • Assist in formulating strategies to meet minority participation goals.
  • Review overall estimates for accuracy and completeness before formal submission.
  • Track and compare estimated costs against actual expenditures.
  • Investigate and promote continuous improvement in estimating methodologies.
  • Inspect construction sites to identify unusual or challenging conditions.
  • Align with Clark's Standards of Excellence: be self-motivated, results-driven, adaptable, a team player, accountable, ethical, innovative, resilient, and capable of building relationships and teams.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree is advantageous but not mandatory; a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in commercial construction estimating is preferred.
  • A strong passion for the profession, commitment to securing work, and pride in ownership of deliverables.
  • Field experience is beneficial.
  • Ability to lead or collaborate within a team on multiple projects and initiatives.
  • An undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is desirable.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with computer applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Detail-oriented, technically proficient, and possessing strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with both conceptual and self-perform estimating is essential.
