Role Summary for Pre-Construction Estimator

We are in search of a detail-oriented and driven estimator to enhance our expanding team. This role involves conducting project take-offs, estimating labor and material expenses, and effectively communicating financial assessments to the Director of Pre-Construction and the Construction Management Team. A strong ability to interpret and understand construction plans and specifications is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned tasks promptly and efficiently.
  • Evaluate projects by determining requirements related to time, labor, and material costs.
  • Interpret blueprints and review relevant documents to generate accurate estimates.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Construction to develop bid packages and presentations for senior management.
  • Propose cost-saving alternatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all project documentation, including estimates and specifications.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or architecture.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the construction sector, specifically in stick-built projects required.
  • Experience in pre-construction processes is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans.
  • Familiarity with material take-off methods and formulas is essential.
  • Proficiency in the following software is preferred:
    1. Microsoft Office
    2. Bluebeam
    3. Procore
    4. Sage/Timberline
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational abilities.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Minimal travel may be required.
