RSM's SALT Credits & Incentives specialists support businesses in recognizing potential state and local tax credits and incentives. These prospects generally emerge when organizations contemplate capital investments, employment, and transaction or structuring decisions.


Consulting roles are available to assess benefits (including income, sales, payroll, property tax benefits, and other potential grants) across various jurisdictions.


Key Responsibilities:


RSM is in search of a seasoned, dynamic, and self-driven state and local Credits & Incentives (C&I) tax expert to join our vibrant, collaborative, and growing Local Tax practice.

Responsibilities Include:
As a Senior Manager in the Credits & Incentives (C&I) sector of RSM's State and Local Tax (SALT) practice, your responsibilities will encompass:

- Leveraging your expertise in state tax credits, incentives, WOTC, and site/location analysis to establish a service delivery team and propel C&I services for our clients.
- Driving growth and profitability of the C&I and SALT practice by generating new revenue from existing client portfolios, cross-selling, and attracting new clients for the tax practice.
- Collaborating as part of a national practice to facilitate knowledge sharing based on your specific areas of expertise while utilizing C&I resources across the firm to leverage knowledge in other states.
- Integrating with clients and the overall tax team to review state tax returns, identify C&I opportunities, and provide C&I services.
- Managing multiple complex issues while communicating in a clear manner to enhance communication between the client and the service team, while managing risks for both the client and the firm.
- Leading and managing the business relationship of complex engagements with a focus on delivering high-value quality tax advice and seeking to expand services to clients.
- Overseeing a team of SALT associates, seniors, and supervisors.
- Delivering timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations with tax advice and consultation that enables clients to enhance shareholder value.
- Acting as a Career Advisor, supervising, mentoring, and developing staff members, and providing appropriate and timely performance feedback.
- Staying informed on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
- Speaking at both external and internal events to enhance the firm's brand and your personal brand as experts in the field of credits and incentives.
- Some travel may be necessary.

Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- CPA, JD, LLM, EA, CCIP, or CEcD credentials.
- At least six (6) years of experience providing income and franchise tax consulting services in a Public Accounting, Consulting, or Law firm.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, detail-oriented, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.

The salary range for this role considers various factors, including education, skills, work experience, certifications, and location.



Compensation Range:
$97,200 - $183,700

Selected candidates will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
