Pay rate: $50.00 to $70.00

Job Summary:

Stratford Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced Airport Operations Manager to oversee and manage on-site field construction activities associated with large-scale airport construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Oversight: Provide oversight of construction-related activities on major airport improvement projects.
  • Schedule Management: Review contractor schedules and work plans to identify critical milestones and priorities.
  • Resource Allocation: Establish the assignments for construction professionals and support disciplines under your supervision for various work areas of construction operations, monitoring progress and recommending corrective action as required to achieve project objectives.
  • Efficiency and Cost Management: Review the assignment of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules, and meet budgetary goals.
  • Project Monitoring: Monitor the baseline schedule against contractor weekly schedule updates to determine if a project is on schedule. If a project is falling behind, request the contractor to explain why and what actions are being taken to bring the project back within schedule.
  • Problem Prevention and Resolution: Maintain oversight and alertness to potential problem areas and recommend or take preventive action to ensure that critical milestones are met for each phase of a project.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Serve as a contact with client representatives, contractors, engineers/designers, and other personnel affecting construction-related activities. Work with all parties involved to resolve challenges and find the best possible solution, benefiting all parties involved in a project.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor the document control systems to ensure proper testing is being performed and documented.
Requirements:
  • Extensive Knowledge: Requires extensive knowledge of airfield construction-related processes, as well as a thorough knowledge of industry practices.
  • Collaboration and Problem-Solving: Ability to both collaboratively accomplish key project goals and solve project challenges.
  • Effective Managerial Capability: Demonstrated effective managerial capability is required, as well as strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Issue Resolution: Ability to recognize when the plans and specifications are not being met and how/when to approach the involved parties (contractors, engineers, clients) to find the best solution for all.
  • Client Representation: Ability to present issues to the client/owner with tact, while offering solutions or corrective actions which are in the best interest of the client/owner.
  • Professional Conduct: Conduct yourself in a manner that earns respect from the client, engineer/designer, contractors.
