Role Summary:

The Airfield Inspector is responsible for overseeing and managing on-site construction activities related to significant airport development projects. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the disciplines and standards necessary for supervising construction and inspection tasks performed by contractors and quality assurance teams in a dynamic airport environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee construction activities on major airport enhancement projects.
  • Evaluate contractor schedules and work plans to pinpoint critical milestones and priorities.
  • Assign tasks to construction professionals and support teams, monitoring progress and suggesting corrective measures to meet project goals.
  • Assess manpower, materials, and equipment allocation to optimize efficiency, adhere to schedules, and achieve budget targets.
  • Track the baseline schedule against contractor updates to ensure project timelines are maintained, addressing delays with contractors as necessary.
  • Maintain vigilance for potential issues and recommend or implement preventive measures to ensure critical milestones are achieved.
  • Act as a liaison with client representatives, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders involved in construction activities.
  • Collaborate with all parties to address challenges and develop optimal solutions that benefit the project.
  • Supervise document control systems to ensure accurate testing and documentation are conducted.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of airfield construction processes and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to collaboratively achieve key project objectives and resolve challenges.
  • Demonstrated managerial skills along with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capacity to identify when plans and specifications are not being adhered to and effectively engage relevant parties to find suitable solutions.
  • Ability to present issues to clients with professionalism while proposing solutions that align with their best interests.
  • Conduct oneself in a manner that fosters respect from clients, engineers, and contractors.
