Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze technical drawings, specifications, manuals, and preventive maintenance tasks to thoroughly define the scope of work. Finalize work orders and packages for maintenance personnel.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations supervisors to review and confirm the status of backlog work orders, effectively balancing new and existing orders to create a productive daily and weekly work schedule that aligns with operational priorities.
  • Engage with operations to review all maintenance notifications, confirming intent, production impact, priority, and equipment availability.
  • Advise on resource allocation for daily workloads, backlog, special projects, and emergency requirements.
  • Ensure comprehensive planning of all work orders prior to scheduling, maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with the preventive maintenance schedule, leading daily and weekly scheduling meetings with supervisors, foremen, and managers.
  • Work alongside Parts Specialists to assess parts usage and assist in establishing optimal reorder schedules.
  • Monitor and evaluate asset conditions to refine maintenance and rehabilitation strategies, proactively preventing unplanned outages through preemptive asset remediation and minimizing failure risks.
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in utilizing a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Strong time management and scheduling capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration with all management levels, including both salaried and unionized staff.
  • Demonstrated skills in administration, planning, and materials management.
  • Ability to leverage the latest mobile technology and instrumentation for asset condition assessment, if necessary.
  • Self-driven individual with a proven track record of conducting assessment programs with minimal supervision.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is advantageous.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of combined experience in maintenance field operations, inspection, and construction within the maintenance and/or transportation sectors.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in managing staff, projects, and/or program management.
