Position Overview

Applewood Centers is a distinguished nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering mental health services, social support, and educational resources to children, adolescents, and families in the Cuyahoga and Lorain counties. Our mission focuses on addressing a wide range of behavioral, emotional, and learning challenges, offering a comprehensive spectrum of care from outpatient therapy to residential support.

As a Clinical Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in transforming the lives of children and families in need, particularly those who are disadvantaged, at-risk, and underserved. This position involves providing office-based therapeutic services to children aged 3-18 facing issues such as disruptive behaviors, ADHD, parent-child relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, academic difficulties, and bullying. Additionally, you will extend your expertise to adults up to age 24 dealing with depression, anxiety, life transitions, and new or expectant mothers experiencing stress or depression.

Our services encompass individual therapy, family systems interventions, and care coordination, all designed to foster positive outcomes for our clients.

Flexible Work Schedule: We offer adaptable day and evening hours, allowing you to manage your own caseload and select the number of clients you wish to see, all while receiving support from an on-site supervisor. Furthermore, you will accumulate all necessary supervision hours towards independent licensure at no cost.

Part-Time Opportunity: This role is part-time, with a commitment of 15-28 hours per week.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree and a valid LSW or LPC, along with a minimum of two years of prior experience in providing mental health services to children with complex needs. Proven familiarity with Medicaid billing requirements is essential; preference will be given to those holding an LISW or LPCC.
