Job Overview

The Retail Merchandising Specialist plays a crucial role in executing merchandising strategies at the account level, ensuring that all marketing initiatives are effectively implemented at the point of sale.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Enhance product distribution across all relevant customer accounts for Quality Beverage.
  • Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with customers consistently.
  • Create impactful product displays in suitable retail locations.
  • Oversee physical inventory and ensure coolers are stocked at key retail sites.
  • Support sales routes during peak periods throughout the year.
  • Track and report on competitive activities related to sales and marketing.
  • Assist with sales promotions and special events, including evening and weekend shifts.
  • Adhere to all legal standards, safety protocols, and Quality Beverage policies.
  • Contribute to the daily maintenance of the POCM warehouse.
  • Handle daily paperwork and ensure all company documentation is accurately completed.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and other departments to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for permanent promotional materials, such as neon signs and clocks, in on-premise and off-premise accounts.
  • Assist sales staff with cooler resets in retail environments.
  • Ensure all POCM materials are appropriately themed and up-to-date.
  • Monitor and rotate products nearing expiration, and track breakage and damaged items in retail.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and safe operation of various power equipment.
  • Design and print basic signage for retail accounts.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to acquire brand and product knowledge.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as required.
  • Capability to work independently and show initiative.
  • Self-driven team player with a positive attitude.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • College degree or relevant work experience is preferred.
  • A valid Massachusetts driver's license and registration are necessary.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift, load, unload, and move products weighing up to 165 lbs., as well as handle merchandise materials that may require power tools.
  • Expect to be on your feet for extended periods, either standing or walking throughout the day.
  • Requires strong mental focus to manage complex tasks that demand attention to detail.
  • Involves travel and exposure to various weather conditions when visiting customers or vendors.
  • Potential risks associated with road travel, including traffic incidents and display setups, necessitate vigilance and caution.
