Job Overview

The Retail Merchandising Specialist plays a crucial role in executing merchandising strategies at the account level, ensuring that all marketing initiatives are effectively implemented at the point of sale.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Enhance product availability across all customer accounts managed by Quality Beverage.
  • Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with customers consistently.
  • Create impactful product displays in suitable retail environments.
  • Oversee inventory management and ensure coolers are stocked at key retail locations.
  • Provide coverage for sales routes during peak periods throughout the year.
  • Track and report on competitive activities related to sales and marketing efforts.
  • Assist in the execution of sales promotions and special events, including evenings and weekends.
  • Adhere to all legal regulations, safety protocols, and company policies set by Quality Beverage.
  • Support the daily operations of the POCM warehouse.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and ensure all company documentation is accurately filled out.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and other departments to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for permanent promotional materials in on and off-premise accounts.
  • Assist sales staff with cooler resets in retail environments.
  • Ensure all point-of-connection materials are appropriately themed and up-to-date.
  • Monitor product freshness, manage breakage, and handle damaged goods at retail locations.
  • Operate various power equipment safely and effectively.
  • Design and produce basic signage for retail accounts.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to acquire knowledge of brands and products.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as required.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a proactive attitude.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred candidates will have a college degree or relevant work experience.
  • A valid Massachusetts driver's license and registration are necessary.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift, load, and move products weighing up to 165 lbs, and handle merchandise materials, which may require power tools.
  • Position requires standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail is essential for managing complex tasks.
  • Travel may be required, with exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Awareness of safety is critical due to potential road travel risks and product handling.
