Job Summary

The Clinical Applications Manager is a key leadership role at Neighborcare Health, responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and execution of clinical application systems. This position requires strong leadership and coordination skills, as well as expertise in clinical workflow principles and concepts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and coordination of work to the Clinical Systems Application team.
  • Responsible for clinical system adoption and results.
  • Manage and execute enterprise projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Create and execute a roadmap for deliverables based on requirements, projects, and support functions, including training.
  • Assign appropriate resources to support project initiatives and production support.
  • Collaborate closely with multiple teams and stakeholders to manage all clinical applications in the portfolio.
  • Represent Neighborcare in strategic meetings with clinical application vendors and partners.
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure successful performance of products, including risk mitigation strategies and fixing problems.
  • Develop clinical application strategies in collaboration with leaders in the organization and other Neighborcare functional teams.
  • Act as a business relationship manager among stakeholders to provide project definition, process leadership, timeframe, cost, delivery, issue resolution, risk mitigation, and status communication.
  • Develop and analyze metrics associated with application performance.
  • Serve as a backup and as an escalation point for the clinical systems application team.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflow principles and concepts and how they are integrated into the EPIC Electronic Health Record system.
  • Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a Windows/Microsoft-based environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to develop and maintain record-keeping systems and procedures.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to assist, advise, and train clinicians and/or other professional staff in usage of clinical applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical protocols, procedures, and standards.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to business and technical problems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management experience.
Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, MIS, or related field.

Preferred: EPIC Ambulatory Certifications.

Years of Relevant Experience Required
  • 8 years related work experience, including at least five years working with Electronic Health Records.
  • 3 years experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
