Position Overview: This role is pivotal in overseeing the development and execution of electrical power and lighting prototypes, ensuring that specifications and guidance are met effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage the creation of electrical power and lighting prototypes, along with associated specifications and guidance.
  • Act as a key authority on power distribution and lighting design, providing expertise to the Prototype team and other essential stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present change initiatives to the executive leadership team on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align on design modifications, implementation schedules, and cost assessments for new store, remodel, and special project initiatives.
  • Provide comprehensive support to stakeholders regarding both prototypical and non-prototypical designs.
  • Engage with Walmart Engineering Consultant Collectives, formulating action plans for enhancements as needed.
  • Assess potential electrical consultants for their viability within the Walmart Program.
  • Negotiate and manage engineering budgets and invoices related to engineering consultants.
  • Ensure the integration of approved change initiatives into prototype documentation for use by Architecture and Engineering Consultants.
  • Review architectural and engineering prototype documents to confirm adherence to the established design intent of approved initiatives.
  • Supervise prototype engineering deliverables to guarantee timely provision to internal stakeholders.
  • Continuously pursue innovative and well-structured solutions to enhance internal systems and processes.
  • Thoroughly assess current concepts and develop alternative cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure the safety, security, and integrity of building designs, complying with relevant federal, state, and local building codes, as well as corporate compliance, food safety, and asset management standards.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Possession of a professional engineering license.
  • Extensive experience in developing and managing prototypical documentation.
  • Knowledge of generators, photovoltaic systems, electric vehicle infrastructure, and arc-flash analysis.
  • Exhibit empathy, compassion, and integrity in interactions with internal and external partners while maintaining accountability.
  • Effectively communicate design decisions and defend those recommendations.
  • Demonstrate strong design and coordination capabilities amidst challenges and changes.
