Facilities Maintenance Lead

The Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing maintenance operations to ensure optimal functionality across the plant. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including Maintenance Business Management, Maintenance Materials Inventory (MRO), and the enhancement of Manufacturing Process and Equipment Reliability. The supervisor will manage departmental budgets, utilize computerized maintenance management systems, and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies. Additionally, the role requires expertise in various technical domains such as electrical systems, electronics, controls programming, and mechanical systems, including waste treatment and utilities management.
Key Responsibilities- Lead maintenance teams to guarantee that all systems function at peak efficiency to fulfill production schedules and quality standards.
- Enhance reliability and maintenance processes to minimize costs and prevent production losses due to equipment failures.
- Assess equipment capabilities and safety conditions in collaboration with other supervisors and technicians.
- Develop cost-effective preventive maintenance procedures to extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for equipment modifications.
- Assist in formulating and executing maintenance-related capital budget items in partnership with engineering.
- Establish and maintain site-specific maintenance logs for the department.
- Coordinate and supervise corrective and preventive maintenance activities in alignment with company policies and financial guidelines.
- Provide training on maintenance practices, including effective use of maintenance logs and routine maintenance tasks.
- Support technicians in diagnosing equipment malfunctions.
- Analyze production schedules to estimate labor requirements for job completion.
- Assist in inventory management by preparing requisitions for spare parts.
- Help maintain a positive variance in the departmental operating budget through efficient workforce and equipment utilization.
- Participate in safety training and contribute to safety committee initiatives.
- Evaluate long-term maintenance needs concerning major projects and facility enhancements.
- Ensure that all equipment and facilities are maintained in a safe and operational state.
- Direct maintenance personnel in the repair and upkeep of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Facilitate communication with external contractors, equipment suppliers, and technical consultants.
- Maintain close collaboration with the Maintenance Manager and other team members.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems is essential.
- Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems is advantageous.
- Understanding of cost management systems is beneficial.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs is a plus.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, afternoons, and weekends.
