Position Overview:

Wells Fargo is in search of a seasoned professional to deliver platform support for the Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) division, along with the applications and infrastructure it oversees. This role is pivotal in providing technological solutions to the Lines of Business (LOBs) and managing the applications portfolio with a focus on skills, stability, security, scalability, speed, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee or engage in the management of all operational systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations domain.
  • Enhance system efficiencies and minimize manual intervention in related tasks.
  • Evaluate and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure optimal availability of systems and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with vendors and technical teams for effective problem resolution.
  • Guide the team to achieve technical deliverables while applying a solid understanding of technical process controls or standards.
  • Work alongside vendors and technical personnel to troubleshoot issues and maintain high levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Engage in the construction and support of High-Performance Computing systems and distributed computing data grids.
  • Interact with various business functions and development teams across multiple lines of business.
  • Gain insights into the operation of current trading and risk systems while contributing to the development and support of caching/computing platforms for these systems.
  • Comprehend systems and application code to assist and guide application development teams.
  • Consult with internal business units to deliver application software development services or technical support.
  • Provide extensive technical consulting to junior technical staff.
  • Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflows, logical processes, hardware and operating system environments, and interfaces with other systems.
  • Implement solutions in alignment with the organization's technology standards.
  • Assess information and offer recommendations to address and resolve business challenges for specific business groups.
  • Advise IT management and technical staff on the use of emerging technologies and associated services.
  • Participate in shaping corporate implementation and integration strategies for modern technologies.
  • Promote innovative and creative technology solutions.
  • Contribute to the achievement of departmental objectives.
  • Address software and infrastructure challenges related to complex trading processes.
Essential Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience or military service.
  • 3+ years of experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Swarm for cloud deployment.
  • 3+ years of experience with CI/CD automation using tools like PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • 3+ years of experience with systems health and performance monitoring tools such as App Dynamics, Dynatrace, and Splunk.
  • 3+ years of experience in application development and deployment.
  • 3+ years of experience providing production support in a 24/7 operational environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in Red Hat Linux or UNIX support.
  • 3+ years of experience in SharePoint site development.
  • 2+ years of experience with relational databases.
  • 3+ years of experience with grid computing platforms (IBM Spectrum Symphony or Tibco Grid Server).
  • Familiarity with the application lifecycle from design and development to testing, implementation, and production support.
  • Experience with at least one managed Kubernetes platform (EKS, AKS, GKE).
  • Knowledge of application observability tools (Splunk, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus).
  • Understanding of technology platform development in a large-scale capital markets environment.
  • Hands-on experience in capturing functional and non-functional requirements and troubleshooting grid/caching data flow issues.
  • Experience in process automation using Linux or Windows scripting and SharePoint flows.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools such as Visio, MS Word, Confluence, Excel, and Splunk.
  • Ability to communicate and clarify requirements to the technical team.
  • Capability to educate Quality Assurance and Production Support teams.

  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays.
