About this position:

Wells Fargo is looking for a seasoned professional to deliver platform support for the Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) division, along with the applications and infrastructure it oversees. This role is essential in providing technological solutions to the Lines of Business (LOBs) and managing the applications portfolio concerning skills, stability, security, scalability, speed, and cost efficiency.

This pivotal role within CCIBT Platform Management encompasses the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Commercial Capital systems. The individual will offer support to both internal and external applications, provide daily assistance to business users, monitor system performance, and conduct technical refresh activities, application migrations, and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee or engage in the management of all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations domain.
  • Enhance system efficiencies and minimize the need for human intervention in related tasks.
  • Evaluate and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure optimal systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Collaborate with vendors and technical personnel for effective problem resolution.
  • Guide the team to achieve technical deliverables while utilizing a solid understanding of technical process controls or standards.
  • Work with vendors and technical teams to resolve issues and ensure maximum systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Engage in the development and support of High-Performance Computing systems and distributed computing data grids.
  • Interact with various business functions and development teams across multiple lines of business.
  • Gain insights into the operations of current trading and risk systems while contributing to the development and support of caching/computing platforms for these systems.
  • Comprehend systems and application code to troubleshoot and provide guidance to application development teams.
  • Consult with internal business groups to deliver application software development services or technical support.
  • Provide comprehensive technical guidance to junior technical staff.
  • Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflows, logical processes, hardware and operating system environments, and interfaces with other systems using standard development methodologies.
  • Implement solutions adhering to the organization's technology standards.
  • Analyze information and provide recommendations to address and resolve business challenges for specific business groups.
  • Advise IT management and technical staff on the use of emerging technologies and associated services.
  • Participate in defining corporate strategies for implementing and integrating modern technologies.
  • Promote innovative and creative technology solutions.
  • Contribute to achieving departmental objectives.
  • Address software and infrastructure challenges related to complex trading processes.
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience and military experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Swarm for cloud deployment.
  • 3+ years of experience with CI/CD automation using tools like PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • 3+ years of experience with systems health and performance monitoring tools such as App Dynamics, Dynatrace, and Splunk.
  • 3+ years of experience in application development and deployment.
  • 3+ years of experience providing production support in a 24/7 environment.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in Red Hat Linux or UNIX support.
  • 3+ years of experience in SharePoint site development.
  • 2+ years of experience with relational databases.
  • 3+ years of experience with grid computing platforms (IBM Spectrum Symphony or Tibco Grid Server).
  • Knowledge of the application lifecycle from design and development to testing, implementation, and production support.
  • Familiarity with at least one managed Kubernetes platform (EKS, AKS, GKE).
  • Hands-on experience with application observability tools (Splunk, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus).
  • Understanding of technology platform development, particularly in large-scale technology within a capital markets environment.
  • Experience capturing functional and non-functional requirements and troubleshooting grid/caching data flow issues.
  • Experience using data analysis tools (SAR, PerfMon, Tcpdump, etc.) to identify and resolve performance issues.
  • Experience with process automation using Linux or Windows scripting and SharePoint flows.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools such as Visio, MS Word, Confluence, Excel, and Splunk.
  • Ability to communicate and clarify requirements to the technical team.
  • Capability to educate Quality Assurance and Production Support teams.
