Position Summary:
The role involves performing cashiering and accounting technician responsibilities within the Accounting and Finance Office (AFO).
Compensation:
Hourly wage of $21.50
Work Schedule: 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service by welcoming and assisting students, staff, and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
- Process various payments and deposits from students, parents, faculty, and staff, both in person and via mail.
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer and execute daily bank deposits.
- Manage the distribution of checks and iPads to university personnel as required.
- Utilize CashNet for posting deposits, making account adjustments, and generating transaction reports.
- Handle daily mail collection and distribution.
- Support AFO staff with supply orders and other administrative duties.
- Perform additional related tasks and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of one year of cashiering experience, including cash drawer reconciliation.
- Proficient in computer data entry and adept at using a 10-key calculator.
- Knowledge of best practices in cash handling.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to exercise good judgment and tact when interacting with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
- A positive and friendly demeanor, with the capacity to work under pressure and manage frequent interruptions.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a willingness to undertake various administrative tasks as required.
- Demonstrated reliability and dependability.
- Familiarity with Workday and CashNet is preferred.
- Evidence of Christian commitment and active participation in church life is essential. Staff members are expected to adhere to PLNU's Community Life Covenant.
- Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.
Physical Requirements:
This position is primarily sedentary, requiring extended periods of sitting, along with some walking on campus, standing, bending, and the ability to lift up to 10 lbs. The role necessitates the use of office equipment, including a computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
It also requires the ability to visually read documents, emails, and reports on paper and computer screens, as well as effective hearing and speaking skills for communication with customers and colleagues.
