Job Overview:
The primary objective of this role is to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students and staff. The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of school facilities.

Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate is required.
  2. Ability to comprehend and execute written instructions.
  3. Physical capability to perform demanding labor tasks.
  4. Ability to lift and transport items weighing at least 50 pounds regularly.
  5. Exemplary personal habits in alignment with job responsibilities.
  6. Proven ability to engage and collaborate effectively with others.
  7. Demonstrated competence in fulfilling assigned duties.

Responsibilities:
  1. Adhere to established guidelines, policies, and directives from supervisors.
  2. Maintain cleanliness of the building and surrounding areas, including walkways and recreational spaces.
  3. Control heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure comfort and energy efficiency.
  4. Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas as necessary.
  5. Ensure all exits are accessible and safety equipment is operational during occupancy.
  6. Raise and lower the United States flag as per school protocol.
  7. Regularly clean and maintain floors, furniture, and fixtures.
  8. Perform daily sanitation of restrooms and common areas.
  9. Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts.
  10. Conduct periodic window cleaning to maintain visibility.
  11. Uphold cleanliness and safety in outdoor areas.
  12. Ensure chalkboards and whiteboards are kept clean.
  13. Report any damage to school property immediately.
  14. Remain on-site during work hours and fulfill additional responsibilities as required.
  15. Oversee the opening and closing of the building, including managing utilities.
  16. Assist with the rearrangement of furniture for various activities.
  17. Follow local regulations for waste management.
  18. Perform minor repairs as needed.
  19. Maintain cleanliness in kitchen areas, including waste management.
  20. Organize deliveries in appropriate storage areas.
  21. Carry out other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Employment Terms:
  • Hourly position (Grade 20)
  • 8 hours per day
  • 40 hours per week
  • 260 days annually
