Job Overview

Position Summary

The Grounds Maintenance Specialist is responsible for a range of landscaping upkeep and snow removal tasks (when applicable). This role involves regular lawn mowing, weeding, planting flowers, snow plowing, debris removal from property grounds, and ensuring that our communities are well-kept and visually appealing. The specialist also prioritizes delivering exceptional customer service to residents and guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance tasks such as emptying trash, shoveling, and using various tools including blowers, mowers, and drills.
  • Maintain lawns to a high standard, including weed control, trimming, planting, and other necessary lawn care services.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the irrigation system to ensure proper functionality and carry out repairs as needed.
  • Daily collection of trash and debris from common areas and streets, ensuring cleanliness.
  • Oversee the maintenance of community equipment.
  • Report any maintenance issues or concerns to the management while performing daily tasks.
  • Ensure the community consistently meets the aesthetic standards set by Flagship Communities.
  • Safely operate vehicles as required for job functions.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while executing duties.
  • Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent (some high school education required).
  • Preferred previous experience in lawn care within the resort or hospitality sector.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and extensive experience in general grounds maintenance practices.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying seasonal temperatures.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficient in operating various hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery.
  • Capable of producing clear written reports.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
