Position Summary

The ideal candidate will be friendly, approachable, and possess excellent communication abilities. As a food service associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that guests have a delightful dining experience. It is essential to have a comprehensive understanding of the menu offerings to effectively sell and serve food and beverages while meeting the company's service and quality standards. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to think and act swiftly while maintaining composure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a designated section of tables as assigned by management.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of food and beverage offerings and service standards.
  • Promote and sell menu items to guests.
  • Process guest orders using the point-of-sale system, handle various payment methods, and provide change as necessary.
  • Engage with guests in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring their satisfaction and exceeding expectations.
  • Perform side-work duties and uphold cleanliness and operational standards in the restaurant.
  • Transport trays with food and beverages.
  • Clear and reset tables promptly.
  • Verify guest identification to ensure legal drinking age compliance and refuse service politely when necessary.
  • Monitor guest behavior after alcohol consumption and assist with transportation arrangements if needed.
  • Present a professional appearance by adhering to grooming standards set by the company.
  • Exhibit integrity and honesty in all employment aspects.
  • Complete additional tasks as directed.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and integrity.
  • Proficient in English communication, both oral and written.
  • Quick learner with the ability to retain menu-related information.
  • California food handler's card required.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling.
  • Basic reading and writing proficiency.
  • Familiarity with computer systems.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must meet age requirements based on state regulations.
  • One or more years of experience in a full-service restaurant setting.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
  • Ability to suggestively sell food and beverage items.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience in a full-service restaurant environment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical requirements for this position include standing for the entire shift, frequent reaching, bending, lifting, and carrying. Team members must be able to transport trays weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift heavier items. The role involves regular communication with guests and coworkers in a moderately loud environment.
