Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Outreach Worker plays a crucial role in engaging with individuals affected by substance use disorders within the community. This position involves proactive outreach efforts to connect with both new and existing clients, ensuring they are informed about available services and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outreach activities in high-density areas to engage individuals with substance use challenges.
  • Promote service objectives by reaching out to clients and providing necessary support, including escorting clients when required.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Identify potential referral agencies and assist in the creation of marketing materials.
  • Deliver presentations to staff at referring agencies about the programs offered by LESC.
  • Provide constructive feedback to intake staff regarding referral challenges and solutions.
  • Ensure satisfaction among clients throughout the referral process and the services provided.
  • Represent LESC at various community events, workshops, and conferences.
  • Participate in Utilization Review Team meetings to enhance service delivery.
  • Document client interactions, area assessments, and special projects.
  • Operate the outreach vehicle for community canvassing.
  • Conduct outreach for individuals with substance use disorders across multiple boroughs.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $43,000, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Proficiency with computers and mobile devices.
  • Personal lived experience with substance use is essential.
  • Certification as a Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A valid New York State driver's license is required; a CDL is necessary.
