Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all phases of a facilities, materials, environmental, or geotechnical engineering project to ensure timely and safe completion within the defined scope and budget.
- Accountable for delivering the project as per the agreed scope; track progress and performance against the project timeline.
- Identify and resolve operational challenges to minimize delays.
- May involve resource management, project scheduling, budget oversight, and collaboration with external vendors and subcontractors.
- Facilitate meetings and generate reports to update the project team and clients on progress.
- Establish priorities, delegate tasks, and coordinate project personnel to achieve project goals and milestones.
- Engage with clients to ensure satisfaction with deliverables.
- Collaborate with APR to ensure involvement throughout the project, especially at critical phases.
- May include responsibilities for approving invoices, preparing change orders, and managing collections.
Essential Duties:
- Manage all facets of small to medium-sized projects.
- Work with clients or stakeholders to define project scope, timeline, and budget.
- Design, communicate, and execute a comprehensive project plan.
- Lead safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with the approved safety plan.
- Proactively address operational issues to prevent delays.
- Identify and gather necessary resources for project completion, including calculations, designs, reports, and specifications.
- Collaborate with other departments to secure specialized resources.
- Conduct regular meetings and prepare status reports for stakeholders.
- Set priorities, assign responsibilities, and coordinate team efforts to meet project objectives.
- Work with APR to ensure proper oversight and sufficient review time for critical project phases.
- Coordinate with finance for effective management of invoicing and collections.
- Develop an understanding of project-related risks and familiarize yourself with potential issues and company risk policies.
- Promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Encourage continuous quality monitoring and improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology, along with a minimum of 5 years of related experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), or similar professional registration/certification relevant to the services and projects managed.
