Salary: $65,000 - $95,000

The Assistant Store Manager Trainee will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operation and development of their store. This includes customer service, training and development of all store associates, labor management, inventory control, asset protection, shrink, store conditions, and performance management.

The ideal candidate will have prior work experience as an Assistant Store Manager and/or Store Manager in a nationally or regionally recognized grocery company and/or big box retail company. They should have experience managing people, departments, and/or whole stores, as well as proficiency in scheduling, ordering, inventory, payroll, P&L analysis, project management, and personnel management.

Additionally, the candidate should have knowledge of employment law, interview techniques, and general retail hiring practices. A Bachelor's Degree in a business concentration, such as Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, or others, is also preferred.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing daily operations of the Front End & Customer Service areas and hiring and development
  • Managing associate time & attendance records, absentee/tardiness control programs, and labor law compliance
  • Engaging store associates and department managers in order to meet store and company goals
  • Training and developing Front End and Assistant Front End Managers; covering front-end cash accountability and monitoring shrink areas
  • Supervising store operations as needed in absence of Store Manager
  • Reviewing front end schedules prior to posting
  • Managing store community relations programs
