Patient Access Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Access Representative to join our team at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts. As the first point of contact for patients and guests, you will provide exceptional customer service and respond to patient needs with empathy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome patients, guests, and escorts into the health center with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain confidentiality of patient health information.
- Check-in and check-out patients for their visits, verifying insurance and other revenue cycle functions as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized waiting area, ensuring a positive experience for patients and visitors.
- Process refill requests and handle sales of contraceptive supplies.
- Cash handling and batch reconciliation each day.
- Document patient information in electronic health records.
- Respond to intraoffice telephone calls, portal messages, and in-person questions.
- Assist in onboarding training of new staff and troubleshoot complex patient interactions.
- Create a healthy work environment and respond positively to directives from management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with electronic health records and basic understanding of health insurance.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
