Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at Family Health Center. As a key member of our healthcare operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth delivery of patient services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Communication: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Coordinate patient appointments, reschedule as needed, and ensure accurate and up-to-date patient information.
  • Insurance and Billing: Verify and update patient insurance information, handle co-pays, and ensure accurate billing and payment processing.
  • Medical Office Administration: Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, process medical records, and perform other administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; two to four years of college or a combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.
  • Experience: Two years of relevant work experience in a healthcare setting, with demonstrated customer service and data entry skills.
  • Certifications: Medical Office Administration certificate strongly preferred; bilingual English/Spanish required, or as needed to support other health center languages.
Interpersonal and Organizational Skills
  • Communication: Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors, co-workers, healthcare professionals, funders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to be flexible in the development of new methods of health service delivery.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to deal with sensitive information in a highly confidential manner.
  • Independence: Ability to function independently with minimal supervision, and to plan, coordinate, and carry out tasks necessary to meet job responsibilities.
Reporting Relationship

Reports directly to the Patient Scheduling Supervisor or Medical Front Desk Supervisor, depending on assigned team.
