Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As a Patient Access Coordinator, you will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, handling incoming phone calls, and securing patient information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming phone calls from patients, families, and referring providers to schedule patient appointments.
  • Make outbound phone calls to patients to schedule appointments with specialists and subspecialists.
  • Secure patient demographics, insurance information, and account guarantor as part of the appointment scheduling process.
  • Process updates and corrections to patient insurance and demographic information.
  • Collect patient liabilities prior to or on the date of service, as appropriate.
  • Schedule in-office procedures, which may require scheduling the appointment and the room where the procedure will take place.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required.
  • English speaking, reading, and writing skills.
  • Strong intrapersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in business or healthcare-related field.
  • Previous scheduling and/or phone customer services experience.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare organization.
  • Bilingual speaking, reading, and writing skills.
