Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As a Patient Access Coordinator, you will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments, handling incoming phone calls, and securing patient information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming phone calls from patients, families, and referring providers to schedule patient appointments.
- Make outbound phone calls to patients to schedule appointments with specialists and subspecialists.
- Secure patient demographics, insurance information, and account guarantor as part of the appointment scheduling process.
- Process updates and corrections to patient insurance and demographic information.
- Collect patient liabilities prior to or on the date of service, as appropriate.
- Schedule in-office procedures, which may require scheduling the appointment and the room where the procedure will take place.
Requirements:
- High school diploma required.
- English speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Strong intrapersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in business or healthcare-related field.
- Previous scheduling and/or phone customer services experience.
- Previous experience in a healthcare organization.
- Bilingual speaking, reading, and writing skills.
