UMass Memorial Health is seeking a highly skilled Ambulatory Service Representative to join our team in the EKG Department. As a key member of our front-line staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Greets and Registers Patients: Welcome patients and families to our department, register them for appointments and procedures, and ensure accurate and timely processing of patient information.
- Verifies Patient Information: Confirm and verify patient demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate billing and medical records.
- Collects Co-Payments: Collect co-payments from patients upon arrival and process payments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Obtains Signatures: Obtain signatures of consent from patients/guardians for treatment authorization and insurance/billing information.
- Assesses Patient Needs: Assess patients' needs, including but not limited to, financial counseling, interpreter services, social services, and refers to appropriate personnel or areas.
- Education: High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: 3 years of related experience required; this requirement is waived if candidate has Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
- Skills: Ability to use specialized applications software and computer systems; multifunctional and able to work under stressful situations; professional behavior and excellent communication and human relations skills.
