Key Responsibilities

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for a variety of tasks in authorized settings, including but not limited to:
  • Gathering comprehensive patient histories
  • Conducting thorough physical assessments
  • Ordering and executing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Formulating diagnostic impressions
  • Creating and implementing treatment plans
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
  • Providing counseling and education tailored to patient needs
  • Making appropriate referrals
  • Prescribing and dispensing medications in compliance with state laws and departmental policies
  • Demonstrating the ability to assess and interpret patient data relevant to age-specific needs
  • Contributing to departmental process improvements and policy development
  • Participating in other departmental or institutional committees as required

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner:
Must possess a Master's degree from an accredited nursing program and Nurse Practitioner program. A current RN and APRN license in Florida, along with certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) is required.

Physician Assistant:
Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and registration as a PA by the Florida State Board of Medical Practice.

Additional Qualifications:
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and DEA registration are mandatory.

Strong verbal, written, and oral communication skills are essential.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities and flexibility to adapt schedules to meet patient and staff needs are important.

Ability to manage time and stress effectively, adapting to unpredictable situations in patient care settings is crucial.

Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records is preferred.

Employment Status

This position is classified as exempt.

Compensation Details

Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and tenure, along with internal equity considerations.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time role with variable 12-hour shifts, including days, overnight shifts, and some weekend/holiday nights.
