What You Will Do :
The Patient Account Representative will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

Responding to incoming customer service inquiries and conducting some outbound follow-up calls in a professional and customer-focused manner.

Ensuring calls are answered promptly without any drops or abandoned calls.


Identifying the purpose of the call and assisting the caller with their inquiries, concerns, or issues with an emphasis on resolving the matter on the first call.

Directing the issue to the appropriate subject matter expert for resolution.


Escalating matters to a supervisor as necessary, gathering the required information, or taking suitable actions to enable the issue expert to resolve the concern effectively.

Submitting corrected claims and accompanying documentation as required for optimal patient experience.

Collaborating with other departments within the organization to guarantee proper management of patient accounts.

Timely communication of issues to management and performing additional duties as assigned by direct supervisors.

Handling a range of tasks that may frequently shift from one type to another without a loss of efficiency or composure.

Exhibiting strong written and verbal communication skills.

Possessing basic computer proficiency.

Demonstrating exceptional customer service abilities, including effective problem-solving and analytical skills.


Ability to operate effectively under the pressure of competing demands for time and attention, and occasionally under challenging circumstances.


What You Will Need :
High School Diploma or equivalent

What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Three years of relevant experience or general knowledge of payer-specific or medical specialty billing
Ability to facilitate discussions with others and develop an understanding of the customer's issue or reason for contact.

Capability to perform essential job functions with a high degree of independence, flexibility, and innovative problem-solving techniques.

Skill in maintaining control of calls by de-escalating issues and instilling confidence that a resolution has been identified.

Understanding and application of reimbursement aspects of managed healthcare contracts.

Experience with dialers

Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish)
