**Position Overview:**

**Under the guidance of the Program Director, the Client Support and Safety Coordinator (CSSC) fosters and nurtures supportive relationships with clients, assisting them in accessing necessary services and resources while ensuring a secure environment for everyone.**

**This part-time role requires availability from 8 AM to 5 PM, including at least one weekend day each week, with a minimum commitment of 16 hours weekly.**

**Key Responsibilities:**

**- Cultivates trusting relationships with clients, aiding them in their personal plans by making referrals to suitable services and monitoring their overall well-being.**

**- Enhances professional skills and stays updated on current research and best practices in empowering individuals facing homelessness through continuous educational opportunities and training.**

**- Observes and addresses the general needs of full-time staff, providing assistance as requested.**

**- Maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and orderliness within the facility.**

**- Safeguards property and personnel by ensuring a secure environment.**

**- Spends the majority of time on the floor, monitoring for inappropriate language and behavior, as well as de-escalating potential conflicts among clients.**

**- Escorts and manages the removal of suspended clients from the premises using trauma-informed care techniques.**

**- Completes incident reports and maintains suspension logs.**

**- Reports any suspicious activities involving clients to the director or full-time staff in detail.**

**- Conducts hourly patrols within a designated area, collecting litter and checking entrances.**

**- Assists in regulating access to the building.**

**- Contacts emergency services when necessary.**

**Physical and Mental Requirements:**

**- Ability to stand, walk, or climb stairs for extended periods, up to 8 hours.**

**- Occasionally bend or twist at the waist, knees, or neck to perform various tasks.**

**- Occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.**

**- Support staff in managing physical altercations.**

**- Work in diverse environments, including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain, or heat.**

**- Maintain constant mental alertness and attention to detail.**

**Qualifications:**

**- Education:** High School diploma required; an Associate's Degree in Social Work or Human Services is preferred.**

**- Experience with current technology (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.**

**- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license.**

**- Successful completion of a background check is required.**

**- Maintain a professional appearance and provide quality customer service.**

**- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security protocols is necessary.**

**- Experience working with individuals facing mental health and substance abuse challenges is preferred.**

**- Proven experience (1-2 years) in a security role or similar position is required.**

**- Must thrive in a high-pressure environment with frequent guest interactions.**

**- Ability to manage both routine and crisis situations calmly and efficiently.**
