Medical Transcription Specialist

The Medical Transcriptionist Senior is responsible for transcribing medical dictation to create a permanent record of patient care. This role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Transcribe medical dictation with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Operate designated word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment as directed
- Provide administrative, clerical, and technical support as needed
- Receive and serve customers with a high level of professionalism
- Perform other duties as needed to support the team
- Minimum two years experience in an accredited acute facility as a Medical Transcriptionist
- Minimum two years experience transcribing Surgical Pathology Reports preferred
- Excellent dexterity and analytic skills
- Ability to plan and organize work, manage workload, operate equipment, input data and type
- Clear speaking abilities in English
- Ability to use available resource material independently to resolve and document challenges constructively
- Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Maintain excellent interpersonal relationships with all customers
- Provide staff and management with timely information, constructive and actionable feedback
- Foster cooperation and collaboration, actively solicit opinions from others, build respect and trust
- Detail oriented
- Able to reason and solve problems effectively, analyze and interpret data
- Able to organize work, to service multiple requests and tasks at one time, while maintaining quality and a professional manner
- Self motivated and works well with minimal direction
- Articulates logical and well-founded arguments that support conclusions
Certified Medical Transcriptionist certification preferred
