Job Summary:
The Dietitian Specialist 2 at Loma Linda University Medical Center demonstrates expertise in conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments and reassessments for inpatient and outpatient patients. Collaborating with the healthcare team, this specialist implements effective nutrition interventions and coordinates patient care. Providing specialized nutrition education to patients and family members, this role works collaboratively with dietitians, dietetic technicians, and diet aides to enhance performance standards.

As a clinical leader, this specialist delivers in-services and lectures to clinical staff, mentors dietitians and healthcare team members, and participates in educating dietetic and medical students. Additionally, this role serves as a consultant for physicians and performs other duties as needed.

Key responsibilities include working in inpatient, outpatient, and/or clinic settings, participating in out-patient group nutrition classes, and fulfilling appointments when referrals are received.

Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a related field is required, along with two years of clinical nutrition experience. One year of experience in Pediatrics is preferred. Knowledge and Skills:
This role requires a thorough knowledge of clinical nutrition in the area of specialty, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with others, work calmly under pressure, and display a positive and professional demeanor. Fluency in English is required, with the ability to speak Spanish desirable.

This specialist must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, make judgments, and follow through on plans. Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills, mathematical skills, and the ability to organize and prioritize workload are essential.

Licensures and Certifications:
Certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD/RDN) is required, with CCS Paneling required within one year of hire date.
