Job Summary

The Senior Medical Transcriptionist is responsible for transcribing medical dictation to create a permanent record of patient care. This role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transcribe medical dictation with high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Operate designated word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment
  • Provide administrative, clerical, and technical support as needed
  • Receive and serve customers with a high level of professionalism
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum two years experience in an accredited acute facility as a Medical Transcriptionist
  • Minimum two years experience transcribing Surgical Pathology Reports preferred
  • Possesses excellent dexterity and analytic skills
  • Ability to plan and organize work, manage workload, operate equipment, input data and type
  • Possesses clear speaking abilities in English
  • Ability to use available resource material independently to resolve and document challenges constructively
  • Possesses excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Maintains excellent interpersonal relationships with all customers
  • Provides staff and management with timely information, constructive and actionable feedback
  • Fosters cooperation and collaboration, actively solicits opinions from others, builds respect and trust
  • Explains and teaches
  • Responds to guidance constructively
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to reason and solve problems effectively, analyze and interpret data
  • Able to organize work, to service multiple requests and tasks at one time, while maintaining quality and a professional manner
