We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled National Sales Manager to join our team at McSteven's Inc. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and managing our medium to large accounts, planning assortments, negotiating pricing and timelines, and meeting with customers to close deals.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in specialty food sales to customers ranging from regional chains to national retailers and beyond. You will be expected to work independently and autonomously, with strong skills in communication, time management, and computer skills. A positive attitude and willingness to help solve problems, pivot strategies, and find creative solutions are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage medium to large accounts, including planning assortments, negotiating pricing and timelines, and meeting with customers to close deals.
- Manage independent sales reps and brokerages around the USA and Canada.
- Work with our Trade Show Manager to plan and execute trade shows.
- Travel to, set up, and take down trade shows, and work with customers and sales reps to promote our products.
- Adhere to all pricing and selling policies, and provide feedback as needed from customers.
- Manage all travel within budget constraints.
- Utilize our ERP and CRM systems to track accounts, orders, and leads.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in specialty food sales to customers ranging from regional chains to national retailers and beyond.
- Ability to travel 30% or more.
- Ability to set up, take down, and work trade shows.
- Strong organization skills, time management skills, and ability to work with deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and sales skills in written, digital, and in-person formats.
- Business development skills in both program planning and account management.
- Basic computer skills and ability to professionally email, attend virtual meetings, send files, work with the Microsoft Office suite, utilize online CRM and ERP systems, and general understanding of technology.
- A positive attitude and willingness to help solve problems, pivot strategies, and find creative solutions.
Compensation:
Base plus benefits for a total compensation of 75k-85k (can be divided up between pay and benefits to meet an individual's needs) plus annual multi-component commission/bonus that includes profit-based % levels on sales, trade shows, customer development, etc.

McSteven's Inc is a medium-sized manufacturer and seller of packaged dry beverage mixes and dry baking mixes, specializing in unique and giftable packaging, licensing, private label, and bulk sales. We are located in Vancouver, Washington State at our 50,000 sf manufacturing plant and sell our goods wholesale to retailers throughout the USA and Canada.
