Position Overview

LMI is in search of an experienced Supply Chain Management Consultant to support our initiatives at the Marine Corps Logistics Command. The ideal candidate will exhibit proficiency in USMC Intermediate Supply, utilizing systems such as Global Combat Support System - Marine Corps (GCSS-MC) and Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (Navy-ERP). A strong foundation in Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) methodology, alongside expertise in USMC/DoD Supply and Maintenance processes, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of current supply chain systems, focusing on inventory management, maintenance, and distribution.
  • Evaluate complex logistics support systems and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze historical and current data to uncover discrepancies and redundancies.
  • Create training materials for new automated systems and facilitate user training.
  • Offer consulting services on USMC logistics strategies and supply chain management policies.
  • Lead projects aimed at enhancing existing supply chain systems at both wholesale and retail levels.
  • Provide insights on inventory management, provisioning, and distribution principles to optimize logistics performance.
  • Assist in establishing lifecycle management sustainment activities and standardization programs.
  • Support efforts to address audit findings and improve inventory management practices.
  • Propose innovative solutions to enhance business practices and decision-making processes.
  • Review programming and budgeting requirements for Defense Components Supply Working Capital Funds.
  • Assess logistics and supply chain policies against performance metrics and recommend improvements.
  • Deliver administrative and technical writing support for supply chain policy updates.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders to maintain and update supply chain issuances.
  • Provide program management support, conduct data analysis, and prepare briefings for USMC leadership.
  • Draft and finalize various correspondence, including reports and presentations.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Over 12 years of experience in DoD logistics and supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with advanced modeling and inventory optimization techniques.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior executives from both government and industry.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a Secret level security clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics preferred.
  • Previous military or DoD civilian/contractor experience.
  • Knowledge of USMC Intermediate Supply and GCSS-MC.
  • Experience with Navy-ERP and FIAR methodology.
  • Understanding of USMC/DoD Supply and Maintenance processes.
