Position Overview

LMI is in search of an experienced Supply Chain Management Consultant to support the Marine Corps Logistics Command. Our ideal candidate will exhibit proficiency in USMC Intermediate Supply, utilizing systems such as Global Combat Support System - Marine Corps (GCSS-MC) and Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (Navy-ERP). A solid understanding of Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) methodology, along with expertise in USMC and DoD Supply and Maintenance processes, is essential. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ethical practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of existing supply chain systems, focusing on inventory management, maintenance, and distribution.
  • Evaluate complex logistics support systems and identify issues.
  • Analyze historical and current data to identify discrepancies and redundancies.
  • Create training materials for users of new automated systems.
  • Facilitate training sessions for users on new and enhanced automated systems.
  • Provide expert consulting on USMC logistics strategy and supply chain management policies, emphasizing inventory management processes.
  • Lead initiatives to analyze and enhance existing supply chain systems at both wholesale and retail levels.
  • Support inventory management, provisioning, distribution, and packaging principles to optimize logistics performance.
  • Assist in establishing lifecycle management activities for weapon systems, including the creation of a standardized supply catalogue.
  • Address audit findings and improve material management practices.
  • Propose innovative solutions to enhance inventory and distribution processes.
  • Review and monitor budgeting requirements for Defense Components Supply Working Capital Funds.
  • Assess logistics and supply chain policies against performance metrics and recommend improvements.
  • Provide administrative and technical writing support for the maintenance of supply chain policies and issuances.
  • Conduct research and prepare documentation for USMC leadership in support of logistics strategy initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Over 12 years of experience in DoD logistics and supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with advanced modeling and inventory optimization techniques.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior executives from both government and industry.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, capable of managing shifting priorities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a Secret level security clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics preferred.
  • Prior military or DoD civilian/contractor experience.
  • Familiarity with USMC Intermediate Supply and GCSS-MC.
  • Knowledge of Navy-ERP and FIAR methodology.
  • Experience with USMC and DoD Supply and Maintenance processes.
