Position Summary/General Description:

A Restaurant Service Associate is responsible for welcoming patrons, delivering food and beverage orders efficiently, ensuring that guests enjoy an exceptional dining experience through prompt and friendly service while being attentive to their needs.

This role involves maintaining cleanliness and organization in all areas, as well as being knowledgeable about menu offerings, pricing, and preparation methods.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensure that food quality standards are upheld through proper preparation and presentation.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in line with Food Safety & Sanitation guidelines.

Ensure that products are stocked and rotated appropriately to meet expiration dates, and that items are displayed in an orderly fashion.

Keep work areas clean and organized, including customer areas, by sweeping, wiping surfaces, removing trash, and mopping as necessary.

Perform daily food preparation tasks as assigned by the shift supervisor.

Restock food items, non-alcoholic beverages, garnishes, and other supplies as needed.

Stay informed about all menu items, garnishes, pricing, recipes, and portion sizes.

Comply with all relevant sanitary regulations regarding food and beverage preparation and storage.

Follow all company policies and local laws regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.
Assist with inventory management and control.
Report tips received in accordance with wage reporting laws.
Promote menu items to enhance sales.
Help train new team members.
Act with urgency to minimize wait times and maintain a swift pace.

Build rapport and loyalty with guests through genuine interactions, such as remembering their names and preferences, and providing attentive service.

Foster a collaborative and positive work environment by supporting team goals and treating all coworkers with kindness and respect.

Develop a comprehensive understanding of services and amenities to assist guests with inquiries about promotions and events.

Maintain a courteous and professional relationship with all Laguna Burger personnel and the public.

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience in a restaurant or food service role is desirable.

Qualifications:

Minimum age of 16.
Familiarity with general kitchen operations.
Understanding of food preservation temperature requirements.
Knowledge of local sanitary regulations regarding food preparation and storage.

Licensing & Certification:

Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Food Handler Certification within 30 days of employment.

Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery:

Chemical dispensing stations
Proper footwear for safety and health is required.

Essential Physical Requirements:

Requires the ability to hear, see, sit, stand, talk, walk, and use hands repetitively.
Involves balancing, bending, crawling, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying.

Essential Mental Demands:
The role requires reading 51-100% of the time.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.

Work Environment: The position is performed indoors in a restaurant setting.
